BYOD Device

At Alexandra Secondary College we always strive to provide the best opportunities for student learning and outcomes. We believe that the use of digital technology is central to effective teaching and learning, by enabling students to access information online, and engage in collaborative and creative work. This access is provided to students through a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program.

We have negotiated with two companies to provide you with access to a variety of devices available to purchase at educational pricing rates. Whilst you are not obligated to purchase from either of these companies, there are advantages in doing so. Advantages include: educational pricing, favourable financing options, a more simplified method for logging warranty and insurance claims, and the possibility of assistance from our IT technicians for maintenance issues. Please note that should you purchase a device from an alternative supplier, which is of a different make or model, it may not be possible for our IT technicians to provide assistance with any maintenance, warranty or insurance issue.

2018 BYOD devices offered by our portal providers: BYOD Devices 2018

Please note that all devices on the two portals meet the recommended specifications of the College.

To access the purchase portals of the two selected companies, follow the instructions below.

  1. Learning With Technology LWT BYOD Portal Please note that no password is required
  2. Edunet edunet BYOD Portal Password is ASC2018

Devices purchased from edunet for a Christmas delivery need to be made prior to November 5th. A delivery fee of $16.50 per unit applies to Lenovo devices; however, this fee does not apply to HP and Apple devices. Please note this fee is in addition to the $22 standard regional delivery charge.

Purchases from LWT have a cut-off date of 30th November to ensure devices are delivered by start of Term One 2018. No delivery charge applies to devices purchased from LWT.

We highly recommend you purchase a bag to protect your child’s device as this helps to minimise any incidental damage. Bag options are available on both BYOD portals.

Included for your convenience on the following page is a list of those devices and their specifications available to purchase via the LWT and edunet portals. Please note that we are expecting two additional devices to be added to these portals in the coming week.

Should you have additional questions please do not hesitate to contact Jacki Tossol or Ian Walters at the College on 5770 2000.
